The Roma Education Fund was honored on December 13, 2014 with an invitation to join Forbes Hungary as the first charity guest of their inaugural “THE BEST GALA” dinner. Forbes invited a selection of the most successful business people, celebrities and artists, as well as leading diplomatic missions in Hungary.

As a franchise imbued with the long tradition of corporate social responsibility of its parent company, Forbes Hungary decided to use its first gala as an opportunity to feature the work of the Roma Education Fund. As the main beneficiary of the night’s charity auction featuring the work of some Hungary’s leading artists, some three million Hungarian forints ($12,000) was raised for REF’s exclusive mission to close the gap in educational outcomes between Roma and non-Roma.

This event was a strong signal that REF is gaining recognition in the business sector as a reliable and effective organization. We would like to send our thanks to Forbes and competing bidders and the donors who participated in the auction.
