New Director appointed at the REF

The Board of the Roma Education Fund is very pleased to announce that after a long search, it has appointed an Executive Director to take charge of all operations, including grant making for Roma education, capacity building, policy development and research in different aspects of Roma education, and the Fund’s comprehensive university scholarship program.

The Board of the Roma Education Fund is very pleased to announce that after a long search, it has appointed an Executive Director to take charge of all operations, including grant making for Roma education, capacity building, policy development and research in different aspects of Roma education, and the Fund’s comprehensive university scholarship program.

Toby Linden, the new Director, is joining the Roma Education Fund on secondment from the World Bank where he is a Senior Education Specialist. He was most recently based in the World Bank’s Sarajevo office where he managed the Bank’s education programs in Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovakia. Prior to joining the Bank, Toby worked for the British Council and for the UK Department for Education and Skills; in both organizations he had a variety of positions in policy analysis and program management. He is married and has three children.

Mr. Linden’s appointment will become effective as of 1 July 2008, when he will take up his duties in the Budapest office of the Roma Education Fund.
